JTLYK 7 February

Dear Parents and Carers,

In maths this week, we have continued our topic of measurement. Children compared and ordered lengths. They first converted all measurements to the same unit before comparing. Using practical equipment, they measured and compared objects inside the classroom. They were reminded of inequality symbols (<, >) and the correct terms: shorter/longer for length and shorter/taller for height.

E.g.

In writing, the children have started writing their persuasive pieces and are now editing and improving them to make their arguments stronger. It’s wonderful to see how their ideas are developing with thoughtful revisions! Each child has chosen a Greek legacy, such as "the Olympic Games" or "Greek democracy," and is working to persuade readers that their chosen legacy is the most important. They incorporated rhetorical questions, expanded noun phrases, and imperative verbs.

Ancient Greek Day

On Friday, 7th February, we had our fantastic Year 3 Greek Day! The children looked amazing in their creative Greek costumes. They took part in three exciting sessions: competing in their own Olympic Games, performing Greek myths in a drama workshop, and preparing delicious Greek food in a food technology session. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm throughout the day, and we truly appreciate the £1 contributions to help cover costs!
