JTLYK 24 January
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we have looked at division in maths, which is a tricky topic, but the year 5’s have put in a great deal of focus and effort to understand and use the bus stop technique – well done year 5!
In English, the children have learned more about taking a witness statement to find out about the curious events that happened on TUESDAY. Science has been great fun this week as we have explored the natural phenomenon of gravity. We have been testing theories and experimenting with different apparatus and are looking forward to sharing our findings with you on 13th February at 2pm. Staying with the science theme, in art, we have continued to be creative with our Peter Thorpe rocket pictures and in computing, the work with Scratch has been going well as we move onto the logic of if/then and else algorithms. In RE we have been exploring the concept of avatars in Hinduism. The children need to be continuing to check the Moon each night to shade in their lunar cycle homework.
What a busy week we have had! Please don’t forget your pack lunches for Monday’s trip to Winchester.
Team 5—Kayleigh, Scarlett and Helen
