Dear parents and carers,
It has been great to get stuck into our fairy tales topic, we have loved reading and writing about the Gingerbread man story this week. We have also done some science this week and have introduced the 6 animal groups to the children. Thank you for sending in pictures of your pets!
If you have any pets, or have family and friends with interesting pets, please email or upload to Tapestry images of them as we will share these in class and see how many different animal types we have in Year 1!
Phonics
We have done some great phonics this week and have learnt 4 new sounds and 4 new tricky words!
Here are the new tricky words and graphemes we have learnt. Please practise them if you get a chance.
Tricky words:
Who, whole, where, two
Phonics:
- ‘y’ as in fly
- ‘ow’ as in snow
- ‘g’ as in giant
- ‘ph’ as in phone
