JTLYK 10 January

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! We hope you enjoyed the holidays, spending time with friends and family. It’s lovely to have the children back at school and they have really settled back well. This week we have launched our Space topic. The children are very excited and have done a great job of helping to set up a space station in the Rainbow room. They have made control panels for the space station and designed their own astronaut badge. We will be continuing this topic for the next few weeks. We have two astronaut ‘dressing up’ suits which are very popular and in great demand! If by any chance you have one at home that your child no longer wants we would be very grateful to have it.

If your child has any books, Space themed toys or puzzles on Space that they would like to bring in to share with the class that would be lovely. Please name them and we will return them when we have finished the topic.

Phonics

This week we’ve learnt new phonemes (ai, ee, igh, oa). Please check Tapestry to see some short videos of these phonemes so that you can practise at home. We have also been reviewing our tricky words.

Wild Place

We will be starting to visit the Wild Place next Friday afternoon. If you are able to come with us please click on the link to sign up. We will leave around 1:30pm and return to school at 2:45pm.

Please send your child in with a warm coat, gloves, hat, scarf and thick socks for the wellies as it can be really cold at the Wild Place. Reception: Wild Place Spring Term Sign Up.
