JTLYK 20 December
Dear Parents and Carers,
The children have done a fantastic job this week after what has been a very long and busy term. They have impressed us all with their balanced argument skills while discussing the question; ‘Do Dragons Exist?’ after some peculiar destruction in the year 5 area on Monday. First, they thought about their ‘for and against’ points, added evidence and had a go at explaining why the evidence supported their points. They finally drew their conclusions about whether they existed or not.
In maths, they consolidated their fraction learning with a review and identified what areas they felt they were confident in and others where they felt they needed more work. Equivalent fractions was a common theme so we will keep revisiting these. Times tables practice are a great way to support them at home with this.
This week, we also had a delicious Christmas lunch on Wednesday, a lovely Carol Service at the Church on Thursday and finished off the term with a raucous Christmas themed quiz that pitched teacher teams against one another. We were all cheering on Scarlett and Helen in the ‘Kings’ team!
We would like to finish with a big thank-you for all the support you have given this term as well as our lovely Christmas gifts. They are all very much appreciated.
We hope you have a lovely and peaceful holiday break.
