Important: If you plan to take your child home directly after the matinee, please inform their class teacher in advance to ensure accurate registers.
To help them prepare, we’ve attached the words to the songs they need to know. Perhaps they could practice singing at home!
It was wonderful to see so many of you today. We loved sharing your children’s brilliant work with you and celebrating their fantastic progress since the start of the year.
This week’s learning:
- English: We’ve been exploring adventure stories, focusing on building suspense and story structure. Next week, we’ll start writing our own!
- Maths: We’ve continued working on multiplication, particularly multiples of 4.
Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Spellings
The spellings which have been sent home for practising have been put in the back of your child’s book. We have included some extra challenge questions which you may choose to practise too.

Song Lyrics
Sussex Carol
On Christmas night, all Christians sing
To hear the news, the angels bring
On Christmas night, all Christians sing
To hear the news, the angels bring
News of great joy, news of great mirth
News of our merciful King's birth
Then why should men on Earth be sad?
Since our Redeemer made us glad
Why should men on Earth be sad?
Since our Redeemer made us glad
When from our sin He set us free
All for to gain our liberty
When sin departs before His grace
Then life and health come in its placе
When sin departs beforе His grace
Then life and health come in its place
Angels and men with joy may sing
For all to see the newborn King
All out of darkness we have light
Which made the angels sing this night
All out of darkness we have light
Which made the angels sing this night
Glory to God and peace to men
Now and forever more, Amen
One More Sleep till Christmas
There’s magic in the air this evening
Magic in the air
The world is at her best, you know
When people love and care
The promise of excitement is one the night will keep
After all, there's only one more sleep ‘til Christmas
The world has got a smile today
The world has got a glow
There's no such thing as strangers when
A stranger says "hello"
And everyone is family, we're having so much fun
After all, there's only one more sleep ‘til Christmas
Tis the season to be jolly and joyous
With a burst of pleasure, we feel it arrive
It’s the season when the Saints can employ us
To spread the news about peace and to keep love alive
There's somethin' in the wind today that's good for everyone
Yes, faith is our hearts today, we're shinin' like the sun
And everyone can feel it, the feelin's runnin' deep
After all there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas
After all there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas day
