JTLYK 6 December

Dear Parents,

We have had another busy week at school. Christmas has arrived! We have started with different Christmas activities and listened to the Nativity story and why it is an important celebration for Christians. We also have our ‘Advent Acts of Kindness’ where each child get the chance to draw out an act of kindness for all the class to be involved in.

On Tuesday 10th, we will be walking down to Holy Trinity church to take part in the school Nativity play. All children are to please come to school on Tuesday morning dressed in their costume and with a coat and water bottle.

We are busy making and writing Christmas cards in class. This weekend your child could write their own Christmas cards to family members or members of the class. We have a school post box which is located just inside the double doors on the ground floor. The cards can be posted through the letter box and will be posted to our classrooms next week. If you do post your Christmas cards, please make sure you have the name and class of the recipient.

Things we need…

If you have any empty cereal boxes, inner cardboard tubes, egg boxes, or other cardboard boxes, we would love them so we can carry on with our junk modelling creations. Thank you!

We are now reviewing all the phonemes and tricky words we have learnt. Please keep practising at home too! You could cut them up and stick them around the house, then go for a hunt to find them. When you find them, say the sound!

This week’s tricky words are ‘we ’, ‘me’ and ‘be’. Please practise these with your children as these words will be appearing in the reading books.
