Curriculum

JTLYK 15 November

Dear parents and carers,

Our history topic is racing along this term with lots of old toys to explore and learn about. Thank you to everyone that has been able to share their old toys with us already.  For anyone that still has some treasures at home that might be of interest to us, we are happy to receive old toys any time this half term.  A big thank you to our first, brave parent who came in to talk to the children about his old toy – a push button basketball game.  The children were very excited!  If you think you could spare us ten minutes to pop in and talk to your child’s class about your old toys, please speak to us at home time or drop us an email.  We’d love to invite you into Year 1!

Maths

This week we are learning about subtraction.  We are using the words take away, subtract, less than and equals.

Why not try making up simple number problems at home and ask your child to write the number sentence that matches the story.

Can you join us?

On Thursday afternoons this term, we are hoping to go to the Wild Place, weather permitting.  We would love some parent helpers to come with us so if you are free and able to join us, please email us. We will leave school at 1.30pm and will return by 2.45pm at the very latest.
