Hello to all our new Year 1 parents and carers!

It has been great to meet a few of you over the last two mornings and afternoons. We look forward to meeting you all properly as time goes on. We have had a lovely first two days meeting all your wonderful children. Both Beech and Oak classes have done some great learning already and are looking forward to our first full week starting on Monday.

Dates

An important date coming up is our ‘Meet the Team’ evening where you can hear all about the year and our plans for it. This will take place on the 17 September in the evening.

Rain Coat Every Day

Please can you send your child in with a waterproof rain coat every day. The weather has been pretty wet the last two days, however we like to go out and play as much as we can, even in the rain so this is really important. We will start our trips to the Wild Place soon as well so please send your child in with some wellies which they can keep at school. It is also important that your child has a water bottle every day in school.

Class Pets

Both Beech and Oak class have a class ‘pet’. Beech have an elephant named Bubbles and Oak have a puppy named Pebbles. Each weekend a different child (picked at random) will bring the class pet home with a book in which they can document their time with the class pet. Feel free to include pictures, or just do some writing about their weekend.
