JTLYK 20 December

Dear Parents,

What a busy term we have had! We have really enjoyed teaching your children and are so proud of how well they have settled into their first term of Reception.

This week has been busy and full of lovely Christmassy activities, including carols around the tree on Tuesday and a panto performance on Thursday. Thanks to those parents who were able to help us walk the children to and from the carol service this week.

Next term we will be learning all about ‘Space’. If your child has any books, Space-themed toys or puzzles on Space that they would like to bring in to share with or donate to the class that would be great.

This week we have continued to review all the phonemes and Tricky words that we have covered so far. Please continue to practise these over the holidays so that the children do not forget them. We will be introducing new ones in January.

We look forward to welcoming you all back on Tuesday 7th January. Have a great holiday and wonderful Christmas!

Wild Place

We will be starting to visit the Wild Place on a Friday afternoon from January. If you can come with us please click on the link to sign up. We will leave at around 1:30 and return to school at 2:45. Reception: Wild Place Spring Term Sign Up.

Dates for your diary

  • Monday 6 January – Inset day (school closed)
  • Tuesday 7 January – Back to school
  • Friday 17 January – Wild Place
  • Tuesday 11 February – Sports hall

Useful Reminders

Now that the weather is colder, please ensure your child is coming to school with a cardigan/jumper and warm coat. A woollen hat, scarf and gloves are a good idea too.

Please make sure your child has a water bottle every day.

Things we need

If you are having a clear out of your child’s toys over the holiday period, please consider donating them to reception. We need wooden toys, particularly a wooden dolls house. Thank you!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Reception team.
