JTLYK 13 December

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a tiring week we have had! We all thought the Year 5’s were amazing and the school play was wonderful! Thank you to all the parent helpers for walking us to the church and back, as well as all the parents for their amazing costume creations and help with word learning.

Next week in English, we will be writing our own balanced arguments using the P.E.E. skills we have been exploring this week. In maths, we have looked at adding and subtracting fractions and using our equivalent fraction knowledge to make this easier.

In art, we have created some wonderful Modigliani-style art portraits which we hope to display in the Year 5 area. In RE, we have also created some lovely poetry and art to express the joy and light that Christmas brings to us.

Finally, in history we have looked at the infamous character of Guy Fawkes and the effect his attempted destruction of Parliament had on the Government and King.

Please be aware that the children in Year 5 will need to bring a packed lunch on Tuesday as the younger years will be having their Christmas dinner.

Year 5 will be having a house football competition on Monday, could ALL Year 5 wear their PE kits on Monday.

URGENT REQUEST: We are looking for volunteers to help with walking children to and from the church for our Christmas service on Thursday morning.

Please let your class teacher know if you are able to help. Thank you in advance.

Have a great weekend.
