JTLYK 15 November

Dear Parents/Carers,

This week has been as busy as ever, with the children working hard across the curriculum. In Maths, we continued our work on column addition and subtraction. The children have enjoyed learning about exchanging and appreciate the neat, systematic approach of this method. In English, we began a unit on non-chronological reports (fact files). The children have been researching their house heroes, taking notes, and writing up their findings. In Science, our focus has been on animal classification and local habitats. Can your child remember the five types of vertebrates—mammals, amphibians, birds, fish, and reptiles?

As part of our science topic, we will be investigating habitats on the Downs next Tuesday morning. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear and a coat. Parent helpers are welcome, but not necessary for this local trip.

Spellings

The spellings which have been sent home for practising have been put in the back of your child’s book. We have included some extra challenge questions which you may choose to practise too.

This week we are looking at the /u/ as in trouble.
