JTLYK 18 October

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful time we all had at The Tower of London! The weather looked like it was going to beat us but the clouds parted as we arrived and we all agreed it was a great day.  We saw the Crown Jewels, The White Tower and even the ravens put on a display for some of us! A big thank you to those parents who came along and helped us.

We really enjoyed our House Netball and Benchball competition yesterday. We put our new skills to the test, handling wins and losses with supportive attitudes and good sportsmanship.

In English, we continued to get to grips with the inner thoughts of the characters in Macbeth. We found out the truth behind Macbeth’s ascent to power.

In maths, we have been looking at different types of numbers. Ask your child about composite, square and prime numbers.

We have also been creating some Christmas cards which will be coming home with details on how to order. This is done online, however the originals must be returned to school before the 8th November, so they can be printed for Christmas time. This is to help the PTA raise funds for the school.

Next term, we will be continuing our look at The Tudors and learning the fate of Macbeth.

Have a lovely weekend!

Team 5—Kayleigh, Scarlett and Helen

5S Cooking

Alison has requested that 5S chefs be reminded to bring in their cooking ingredients for PPA next Tuesday! Most ingredients can be kept in their school bag until their cooking lesson in the afternoon. However, meats and cheeses that need to be refrigerated must be placed in a separate bag from the other ingredients with a name label and date. The children can bring them to Scarlett on Tuesday morning to go in the fridge. Thank you!
