JTLYK 11 October

Dear parents and carers,

In Maths this week we have been learning to order objects using the language greater than and fewer than. We then moived onto ordering numbers using the language of more than and less than. The children picked up this concept quickly and we have been really pleased with their grasp of the Year 2 curriculum so far – excellent stuff!

In English, we spent the week writing our stories about Mrs. Armitage on her roller skates. The children made great use of their plans, roller skate designs and ideas for her new pet. They combined all of their preparatory work together to write some beautiful stories which saw Mrs. Armitage overcome many obstacles on her adventure.

In Art, we continued testing out some watercolour techniques, this week with a focus on paint resist techniques. The children used both masking tape and candles to create patterns in their art books. We look forward to them bringing all of their learning together in their final compositions soon!

Some helpful reminders and dates for your diaries:

Reading books and Reading Records have now been sent home. Can these please be returned to school every Thursday and they will then be sent out again on Friday with a new book.

Please make sure you write in your child’s reading record each time they read to you so we can keep track of their reading at home.
