JTLYK 27 September

Dear parents and carers,

In Maths this week we have been looking at number lines and the intervals they can go up in such as ones and tens. We thought about different starting and ending points and used this knowledge to identify missing numbers.

In English, we planned a new story for Mrs Armitage, Mrs Armitage on Roller Skates. We came up with new pets to join her in this story as well as thinking of creative problems she will face on her journey and inventions to overcome these.

In Art, we continued testing out some watercolour techniques, this week with a focus on pattern and texture. The children explored using salt, sponges and splattering.

In Computing, we discussed keeping ourselves safe online as well as how to respect others. We talked about keeping passwords and personal information private, asking others permission before taking photos and using kind words.

Some helpful reminders and dates for your diaries:

Reading books and Reading Records have now been sent home. Can these please be returned to school every Thursday and they will then be sent out again on Friday with a new book. Please make sure you write in your child’s reading record each time they read to you so we can keep track of their reading at home. Library books are being changed over on Tuesdays.
