JTLYK 13 September

Dear Parents/Carers,

We enjoyed meeting you at our Meet the Team evening on Thursday. If you couldn’t make it or have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.

The children have had a wonderful week and have been settling in well to Year 3! They had a very successful Buddy Day on Friday, where they got the chance to know each other during a walk through the Chantries before stopping to play games, do some nature art and team building challenges. The teachers enjoyed hearing the supportive and encouraging conversations between the year 6 children and their buddies throughout the day, so well done to Year 3 and Year 6!

In maths, the children have been partitioning numbers into tens and ones, as well as looking at different ways to represent 100. Can you give this question a try and create some of your own?

In English, the children have been focussing on the story, The Koala Who Could. This book has helped us to better understand our school value of embracing the future with hope and confidence. We are also using it as a model text to write our own stories about a character who overcomes their fear to embrace their future. They have been writing fantastic character descriptions, including adjectives and verbs. They have also learnt about what a plot is and have been developing plots for their own stories.

We are very proud of you, Year 3!

Best wishes, Year 3
