Dear Parents,
Parent consultation week always allows us a moment of reflection; to look back at where the children started the year, celebrate where they are now and look forward to their future achievements. It has been great to see so many of you on the Holy Trinity site this week and we look forward to next week at Pewley. For those of you who took up the opportunity to join one of Geraldine's book clinics, we hope you found this useful. I'm sure you'll agree that Geraldine is truly the fount of all knowledge on children’s fiction! She will be running some more sessions on the infant site next week during parent evenings, so please do pop along to pose any questions you may have about choosing the right book for your child.
Finally we wish Richard a speedy recovery over the next two weeks as he recuperates from a planned operation. As ever we will be available to answer any queries you may have during this time.
Best wishes,
Nicola, Helen and Debbie

Teacher-led clubs
Don’t forget that there will be no teacher-led clubs (Drama, Binca, Lego, Science and Cartoon Drawing) next week owing to the parent consultation evenings.
Scholastic Book Fair
A reminder that the Book Fair will be in the hall after school from Monday to Thursday next week. It will also be open during the parents’ evenings on 6 and 7 March. Please come along and have a browse; the school receives books as commission on all sales.
Unusual reading competition
Thank you for sending in your entries for the ‘unusual reading’ competition. The winners are: Erin Gruenberg and Anna Glynn-Jones from Year R; Rebecca Healey and Milo Derham from Year 1; Meg Miller and Katie Keiller from Year 2. All the entrants and the School Council went down to Waterstones on Wednesday for a special story-time session as a treat.
FOPS News
Saturday 24th March – Pig racing and fish and chip supper. Please look out for a flyer in book bags today. Tickets will go on sale next week. We hope this will be a fun social/fundraising early evening event for all the family so book your tickets early to avoid disappointment! Ham-Shire Pigs (who will be organising the evening) will be running a tote betting system for the pig racing. It would really help our fundraising effort if we had sponsors for the 6 races of the evening. We are looking for 6 sponsors to stump up £20 each as this would go a long way towards covering the expenses of the evening, so whether you would like to have a Pig Race named in your honour (!!) or be an anonymous benefactor, please let Louise know (louise.keiller@gmx.com) and help the evening off to a flying start ! Thank you. We look forward to seeing lots of you there.
Next playground cake sale will be on Friday 9th March and will be run by Walnut class.
Sport Relief
This year we will be selling wrist bands in aidof Sport Relief. They will be available in the office from Monday 5 March at a cost of £1.50. Our next Fluffy day on Friday 23 March will have a sporty theme at Pewley, so start getting ready and come and buy your wrist bands now.
Scooter rack
You may already have noticed that our scooter racks have finally arrived and are located at the front of the car park, so scooters can now be parked there during the day.
Oxford website
We have been made aware of a really useful new website for parents: www.oxfordowl.co.uk which is an excellent resource with great e-books and activities plus a section on maths.
Lost
Elias Savage, Beech Class, has lost a blue mini micro scooter which may have been collected in error. It was left by the hedge (near the front gate) early this week. It had the back brake missing and a crack in the plastic on the front.
Found
A set of keys was found earlier this week on the back playground. The keys are on an ‘Amaroni’s’ keyring.
