House Music, Wednesday 21 January
We are having a fun music session in our house groups on Wednesday morning. The children have been invited to bring in an instrument if they are able to play it, and if they would like to perform a short piece for their houses. All the children will be joining in a selection of musical activities.

Mathletics
The subscription to Mathletics has now expired and, after considerable thought, we have decided not to renew. We are looking at alternatives but in the meantime please encourage your child to compete to progress through the Maths Legends scheme for Year 2 and above. Keep an eye on the Just to Let You Know section of the website for other super suggestions of maths activities that you can do at home to support your children’s learning.

Helping children feel safe at school
This week we have introduced the children to a new phrase ‘Stop it, I don’t like it’ which we would like them to use in all sorts of different situations. It is always useful for children to have strategies readily to hand when things are not going quite right, for example a game they don’t want to play anymore or if somebody has forgotten to share nicely. Six simple words which they can use before coming to ask a teacher for help.

Teacher-led clubs
If you filled in a form for teacher-led clubs, you should now have received confirmation of which club your child will be doing this term. Please note that Ukelele Club is over-subscribed, but Patrick will run it again next term for those children who do not get an opportunity this time.

Year 2 swimming
Swimming letters for this term have now gone out in book bags. Please return your payment if you have not already done so.

Sainsbury’s Active Kids 2015
The Sainsbury’s voucher scheme will be starting shortly and we are looking for a parent volunteer to help us co-ordinate the scheme. With the vouchers collected in previous years we have been able to buy lots of PE and other equipment for the school. Please contact the school office if you would be able to help.

Football Club
Next week children will be able to get changed for Football Club in the Rainbow Room as usual. Apologies for the confusion this week but the Rainbow Room was out of use because of the scaffolding.
