FOPS NEWS

iPad minis: At the FOPS meeting this week, Richard and Mel talked to us about the plans for the IT infrastructure and curriculum at the infant school site. The committee approved a request to buy 16 i pad minis for use on the infant school site as we believe they will offer fantastic new learning opportunities for the children. We would obviously like to buy these as economically as possible and wondered if any parent had any connections with Apple or a retailer which could potentially offer us a discount. If you know of someone or a business that may be able to save us some money, please could you contact Emily Bourke (emilybourke@msn.com).

Mad March Ball - 8 days and counting ......
After Dinner Tickets still available: The Mad March Ball may be sold out but some "after dinner" tickets (10pm to 1.00pm) are still available. If you would like to come along and enjoy the live music and disco and have a few drinks, the tickets are £10 (including a glass of bubbly). Please fill in an application form and return it to the school office.

Auction - Pre-bidding now open - You've got to be in it to win it! It's only one week to go until the Mad March Ball and pre-bidding for the fantastic auction items on offer at the Ball is now open! Check out the exciting lots in the attached auction catalogue or on the HTSC website. An auction preview of the top nine items is coming home in your child's bookbag this afternoon. Anyone can pre-bid on the items listed in the catalogue, even if you are not coming to the Ball. Simply email ball@holytrinity.surrey.sch.uk with your name, the lot number you wish to bid for, the lot item name and the amount of your pre-bid for that item. Pre-bidding closes at 3pm on Friday 7 March 2014. Good luck!

Have you booked your babysitter? Urban Sitters, who have donated two sessions of babysitting to be auctioned at the Mad March Ball, will make a donation to the school for every booking that is made or for every family that signs up with them from now until 8 March. Just mention Mad March Ball when you make a booking. Guildford Urban Sitters is a new, local childcare agency with the personal touch. All their sitters have DBS checks, have had a face-to-face interview and have their references checked. Bookings can be made for regular or one-offs, and the charge covers up to 3 children and their sitters will do light house work too. You can check out their website at urbansitters.co.uk.

Summer Fair - Help Needed We need to get the ball rolling for the Summer Fair which is to be held on 8 June 2014. We are looking for a volunteer or two to take on the job of asking for raffle donations. If you think this is something you could help with, please contact Emily Bourke (emilybourke@msn.com).

Tiny Tunes is a rhyme and dance class for under-5s, being run by HT’s lovely ex-music teacher, Nicki Murphy.  It takes place at the Spike Community Centre on Friday mornings at 10am and 11am and at Shalford Village Hall on Thursday mornings at 10am and 11am.  It’s energetic and fun with songs and music along with scarves and shakers, bubbles and bean bags.  No need to book – just bring your toddler along for a trial session and meet other mums buying into the magic of music!  For further information, please contact Nicki Murphy at nicki@tinytuneslive.com.  For more information, visit the website www.tinytuneslive.com.
