Junior 27 April 2012

27 April 2012

Dear Parents,

Last week I gave out the scores for each of the questions in the recent survey.  If you did not have a chance to see them please click here.  This week we are giving a digest of the comments (available to download here). As a result of your comments there will be focus groups to look at the main areas for development.

The first focus group will be on 2nd May at 7pm at the HT site where we will be looking at how we disseminate information to you about your children.  This will include thinking about written reports and consultation evenings. I do hope some of you can come along and help us find a way of giving you the information you want, in a user-friendly form, when you want it.  I will try to keep the meeting to about an hour and a quarter.  This meeting will be in time to affect reports this summer.

Best wishes, Richard

Parking & Safety
You may be aware that one of children was involved in a road traffic accident on Cline Road, after school, last week. He is fine, but we would like to remind you all about driving and parking around both of the HTPD sites. We have noticed that many parents are ignoring the double yellow and zig zag lines and we have become increasingly concerned for the children’s safety. Please do not park in these areas. Thank you for your co-operation.

Admissions September 2012
If you have a child starting school in Year R in September or a Year 2 child transferring to junior school, please ensure that you have accepted your place on-line (if you applied on-line) or returned your reply slip to school (paper applications) by next Wednesday, 2 May.

Tag Rugby
Despite the torrents of rain this week we managed to hold our Tag Rugby festival on Tuesday which was great fun. Well done to everybody who took part with five exciting games for each team. Our Year 6 first team managed to win all five of their games and together with the results of the league games they won second place overall. They all displayed fantastic teamwork.

Netball
Congratulations to our year 6 netballers who got runners up silver medals at the County High Five netball Tournament on Thursday with a thrilling 4-5 final. They all showed amazing versatility having to swap positions every half match of their 6 matches and supported each other with superb team spirit. Good luck in the Tormead Versatility tournament tomorrow.

Sainsburys Vouchers
Can we make it 20,000 by next week?  We already have 10,400!  Thank you.

Congratulations to Rocco Collinson and Polly Moon
The children will be representing HTPD holding the flag at Stoke Park.

Lost:
Finnan Waterfield (3G) has lost his named waterproof jacket.  It is royal blue with black shoulders.  Last seen on the astroturf at lunchtime on Thursday.  He really needs it in this weather!  If found please bring to 3G.

Sunday 6th May - Frimley 10k Road Race 2.5K Fun Run
The Savage family will be running in this event to raise funds for the SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) at Frimley Park. She was transferred to Southampton where she had a heart operation; she is now back at Frimley Park and preparing to go home in the next few weeks.
If you feel you could sponsor us, please look at the fundraising link below. www.justgiving.com/RunningForClara
