Infant 27 April 2012

27 April 2012

Dear Parents,

Last week I gave out the scores for each of the questions in the recent survey.  If you did not have a chance to see them please click here.  This week we are giving a digest of the comments (available to download here). As a result of your comments there will be focus groups to look at the main areas for development.

The first focus group will be on 2nd May at 7pm at the HT site where we will be looking at how we disseminate information to you about your children.  This will include thinking about written reports and consultation evenings. I do hope some of you can come along and help us find a way of giving you the information you want, in a user-friendly form, when you want it.  I will try to keep the meeting to about an hour and a quarter.  This meeting will be in time to affect reports this summer.

Best wishes, Richard

Parking & Safety
You may be aware that one of children was involved in a road traffic accident on Cline Road, after school, last week. He is fine, but we would like to remind you all about driving and parking around both of the HTPD sites. We have noticed that many parents are ignoring the double yellow and zig zag lines and we have become increasingly concerned for the children’s safety. Please do not park in these areas. Thank you for your co-operation.

Parents’ Focus Group, Wednesday 2 May, 7.00 pm at Holy Trinity

All parents (infant and junior) are very welcome to attend the focus group led by Richard looking at reports and consultation evenings.  More details in Richard’s letter above.

Admissions September 2012

If you have a child starting school in Year R in September or a Year 2 child transferring to junior school, please ensure that you have accepted your place on-line (if you applied on-line) or returned your reply slip to school (paper applications) by next Wednesday, 2 May.

2012 Olympic Games flag project
Following the draw on Monday morning, Rocco Collinson (infants) and Polly Moon (juniors) will be representing HTPD and holding the flag at Stoke Park on 20 July.

Teacher-led clubs
Club letters have now come out via book bags.  We do have one un-named form, so if you have not received yours please come up to the office.  For children new to after-school clubs, they may bring a small, healthy snack to have before the club starts – please send these in their book bag.

Eco Team
The eco team had a busy afternoon making a bug hotel near the eco house which we are hoping will be a comfortable place for mini-beasts. The team had great fun making the bug hotel and then they settled all sorts of creatures into the hotel's leafy soil and log piles. Thank you very much to the families who contributed the logs for this project. Please see the website for pictures of the bug hotel in the making.

Parking
Please do not to park across the school gates at the end of the school day – some of our staff need to leave promptly at 3.00pm to pick up their own children from school.

Lower entrance
If you are leaving school after the lower doors have been shut at 9.00am, please ensure that they are closed securely behind you or alternatively go out through the upper doors.

Lost
Charlotte Wright, Walnut Class, has lost a small, green (named) Shackleton fleece – please check that your child has not brought it home by mistake.

Grace Mitchell, Chestnut Class, has lost a (named) Keller cardigan.
