As part of a consortium of environmental and local amenity groups, Holy Trinity Pewley Down CoE School is excited by the opportunity to be involved in a bid to purchase the land stretching from the school up to Pewley Down, acquiring a portion of the field nearest the school. As a school, we have always prioritised teaching the children to cherish and respect our local environment, making access to the Downs a major part of school life at HTPD. We believe that the purchase of this land would be a wonderful opportunity to further enhance the ways that we use the outdoors and teach the children to look after the natural beauty that's on our doorstep. Investing alongside other groups in the local community to preserve this natural space would be a brilliant outcome for the school and the wider community.
The site is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we would only use the field for an outdoor play and learning space. The school would not extend school buildings onto the site.
If your family has benefited from the education that HTPD has offered generations of children and you would like to support the school's fundraising campaign as part of “Saving Pewley Down Fields” for current and future generations, please contact the Headteacher, Clare Brunet, at info@htpd.surrey.sch.uk
